A Boston man was sentenced to more than a year in prison last week after making internet threats against a federal agent, according to the Massachusetts U.S. Attorney’s Office.
On January 23, Kenneth Pacheco, 22, pled guilty to one count of intimidating a federal law enforcement officer in federal court in Boston. On Thursday, a judge sentenced him to 16 months in prison and three years of supervision.
Investigators got a complaint from an anonymous source in May 2025, saying that someone using the Facebook profile “Amir Haqqani” was making threats against the source and others, according to federal prosecutors. Investigators contacted Pacheco in conjunction with the complaint.
According to federal authorities, Pacheco’s relative voiced concern in July 2025 that Pacheco was at risk of self-harm. Investigators responded by speaking with him again.
Pacheco made threats against friends, acquaintances, and a federal agent on social media on October 7, 2025, according to federal authorities. He stated that those threatened would “get hurt,” “put people in the… hospital,” and “blow” the agent’s “brains out.”
No other information about the case has been given.
