Medina man sentenced for manufacturing and selling drugs out of his home

A Medina man was sentenced to prison last week after it was discovered that he sold and manufactured drugs out of his house.

According to the Department of Justice, 29-year-old Andrew Meyers of Medina was sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to the following:

  • Felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition; prior conviction in the state of Wyoming for conspiracy to manufacture, possess or deliver marijuana in 2019
  • Possession with intent to distribute 3,4-Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA)
  • Possession with intent to distribute ketamine
  • Possession with intent to distribute marijuana
  • Engaging in money laundering transactions in property derived from unlawful activity
  • He was also sentenced to three years of supervised release following imprisonment and forfeiture of property.

According to court documents and evidence presented, investigations into suspected drug trafficking activity in Medina, Portage and Summit Counties led federal agents to identify Meyers.

In August 2024, the DOJ said when agents were executing a search warrant of his home, they discovered a laboratory, packaging materials, digital scales, a drug press and a money counter.

Agents also seized the following:

  • 882.1 grams of MDMA
  • 363 grams of Ketamine
  • 2,010.1 grams of Tetrahydrocannabinol
  • 900.4 grams of delta-9-Tretrahydrocannabinol
  • A Glock 19, semiautomatic firearm and ammunition in his bedroom
  • BMW motorcycle
  • Suzuki dirt bike
  • A motorhome
  • More than $15,000 in cash

Meyers reportedly attempted to conceal his narcotics income by purchasing and improving two properties in Akron, according to the DOJ.

The ATF and the FBI Akron Resident Agency investigated this case.
