An El Paso man was arrested after deputies were notified that a semi truck going west on Interstate 20 was reported stolen on Tuesday, prompting a pursuit.
According to the Ector County Sheriff’s Office report, a traffic stop was started on a driver later identified as Enrique Porras, who was allegedly driving a stolen black 2026 Volvo.
Deputies initiated a traffic stop, but Porras allegedly refused to exit the vehicle and fled.
According to the report, Porras allegedly drove several miles westbound on Interstate 20 before pulling over and exiting the vehicle.
Authorities claim law enforcement officers sought to arrest Porras, but he aggressively resisted.
He was brought to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center and charged with avoiding arrest and detention with a motor vehicle, as well as resisting arrest.
Porras is now being jailed in the Ector County Law Enforcement Center on a combined $28,000 bail.
