A body was found in the Maumee River in east Toledo on Sunday afternoon.
The body was located between the Docks and International Park just before 3 p.m.
According to a Toledo Fire and Rescue Department battalion chief, a group of kids were fishing when one of them caught his hook on the body. The kids thought it was a log and reeled it in, only to realize it was a body.
According to TFRD, the body looks to have been in the sea for “weeks.”
The identity of the body is unknown.
