A man was apprehended early Wednesday morning after allegedly breaking into the Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call shortly after 1:30 a.m. regarding a probable burglary near 7th Avenue and Jefferson Street in downtown Phoenix.
Maricopa County Security Services and the Phoenix Police Department were already on the scene to help secure the building. Deputies investigated the facility and discovered Fenris Lu.
Lu was arrested on-site. He is charged with one crime of burglary, four counts of sexual activity with a deceased person, one count of criminal damage, one count of escape, and one count of possession of burglary equipment.
At his first appearance, his bond was set at $500,000 cash. If he posts bond, he will have to wear an ankle monitor.
Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the occurrence.
