Man Sentenced To More Than 10 Years In Prison For Attempted Murder During Salem Online Food Delivery

A man was sentenced to more than ten years in prison after police say he sexually assaulted and stabbed a Salem woman multiple times while making food deliveries in February.

A Polk County judge sentenced Daniel Ray Myers, 63, to 130 months in prison, or 10 years and 10 months, for attempted murder and first-degree assault in connection with an incident on February 10, 2026.

According to investigators, Myers and the victim were sitting in his car at 9 p.m., placing online food delivery orders, when he drove her to a remote spot in West Salem, attempted to sexually assault her, and then stabbed her when she fought back.

The victim claimed she persuaded Myers to allow her to walk into a Walgreens store in Keizer to purchase first aid items. Store personnel contacted the police on her behalf.

Myers fled to California, where he was eventually apprehended by local authorities and extradited back to Oregon.

He had already been convicted of murder, illicit weapon possession, and distributing contraband.

Myers will also undergo three years of post-prison supervision.
