Central Florida Man Discovered Between Two Boats in Accident at Dock

A Central Florida man was discovered between two boats on a wharf in a tragic accident.

The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office reported that a 75-year-old DeBary man drowned after being entangled on a rope and falling into the sea as he prepared to go boating.

Deputies rushed to Sher Lane when someone discovered the victim’s body in the water between two boats. Local police reported that the victim’s left leg was twisted around a rope used to secure the boat to the dock.

The victim was identified as Jerry Capo of DeBary. Capo’s son arrived on the scene and stated that he and his father were intending to go out on the boat.

The inquiry revealed no evidence of foul play, and the occurrence was judged to be unintentional, according to the Volusia Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff’s Office extended heartfelt sympathies to Jerry’s loved ones.
