A Massachusetts man has been sentenced to federal prison for distributing crystal methamphetamine, the United States Attorney’s Office announced Monday.

Giang Tran, 36, of Webster, was sentenced to 10 years in prison on May 8 in federal court in Worcester, followed by five years of supervised release, according to U.S. Attorney Leah Foley.

Judge Margaret Guzman of the United States District Court handed down his sentence.

Tran pleaded guilty in January to conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute prohibited narcotics (50 grams or more of methamphetamine) as well as distribution of methamphetamine. Tran was indicted on June 10, 2025.

In December 2024, a cooperating witness informed authorities that Tran was the supplier of pounds of crystal methamphetamine.

Tran consented to give crystal methamphetamine to undercover law enforcement officers acting as cooperative witnesses on three occasions, according to prosecutors.

On January 2, 2025, Tran personally delivered the medicines to a commercial plaza in Everett.

Tran sent an acquaintance to deliver the pills in Worcester on January 8 and 21, 2025, according to authorities.

Prosecutors said Tran delivered or arranged for the delivery of about 1 kilogram of methamphetamine.
