26-year-old Medina woman taken into custody after man shot in the head

A 26-year-old Medina woman is charged with felonious assault after shooting a man in the head on Sunday.

According to a Medina Police press release, officers responded to a domestic incident in the 200 block of Abbeville Road about 9:33 p.m.

While responding, officers discovered that a person had perhaps been shot.

When authorities arrived, they discovered a man with an apparent gunshot wound to his head.

According to the announcement, witnesses and officers began providing medical assistance to the victim before paramedics arrived.

The Medina Life Support Team transported the man for medical treatment.

Officers stated that they secured the scene and arrested Faith Thrasher, 26, of Medina.

She was subsequently charged with felonious assault.

According to the announcement, police examined the evidence and interviewed the suspect and witnesses.

The probe is still active and ongoing.

The Medina County Grand Jury may consider further charges as the investigation proceeds.
