Tennessee man apprehended for solicitation of child, dissemination of child sexual abuse material, Auburn police assist

One man has been apprehended on charges of electronic solicitation of a child and three counts of dissemination of child sexual abuse material, according to the Auburn Police Department.

The Auburn Police Department, with the assistance of the Tennessee Highway Patrol Special Investigations Bureau, apprehended Charles Levi Weaver, 37, of Sequatchie, Tennessee, on Thursday, April 30, 2026.

According to the Auburn Police Department, the arrest resulted from a joint investigation with the Tennessee Highway Patrol Special Investigations Bureau.

Investigators said they discovered evidence that Weaver engaged in illicit online communication with a minor and distributed forbidden information in violation of Alabama law.

Auburn police said the Tennessee Highway Patrol Special Investigations Bureau arrested Weaver on Friday, April 24. He later waived extradition and was brought to the Auburn Police Department on Thursday, April 30. All arrest warrants have been served.

According to police, Weaver was subsequently brought to the Lee County Jail and is presently being held on a $90,000 bond.
