Man sought after shooting tied to domestic disturbance

Authorities are looking for an 18-year-old after a man was shot and taken to the hospital early Friday, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office stated.

After receiving a report of a shooting, deputies arrived at the 2900 block of Shelby Drive at 6 a.m. on Friday.

Demarcus Vontrez Wesby, 18, is wanted on an aggravated assault warrant. The CIA believes Wesby is armed and dangerous.

Wesby stands 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs approximately 143 pounds.

Deputies discovered a 26-year-old guy in a bedroom with at least three gunshot wounds on his right side, according to the sheriff’s office.

According to officials, the person was transferred to the hospital and is listed in stable condition.

The sheriff’s office reports that Wesby and the victim engaged in a physical argument in the bedroom, witnessed by a 20-year-old woman.

The witness told deputies she tried to stop them, but Wesby allegedly opened fire.
