Louisville Metro Police are informing the public about a heavy police presence near South 22nd Street and Garland Avenue.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – According to Louisville Metro Police, a man shot himself in the California neighborhood after leading officers on a vehicle pursuit.
Police responded around 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 15, to a reported robbery in the 1000 block of West Broadway.
Officers were given a description of the suspect’s vehicle, which was quickly located.
The suspect then led officers on a brief chase that ended at the intersection of South 22nd Street and Garland Avenue.
LMPD stated that the suspect barricaded himself inside the vehicle before shooting himself.
He was transported to UofL Hospital for treatment.
At this time, no details have been released about the extent of his injuries.
