Michigan Man Identified as Victim in Fatal Louisville Parkland Shooting

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A man from Michigan was shot and killed Wednesday evening in Louisville’s Parkland neighborhood.

Just before 5 p.m. Wednesday, Louisville Metro Police responded to reports of a shooting in the 3000 block of Greenwood Avenue, according to department spokesperson Aaron Ellis.

When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound outside the location and immediately provided aid. EMS later transported him to UofL Hospital, where he died, Ellis said.

On Thursday, the Jefferson County Coroner identified the victim as 30-year-old Shemar Shackelford of Detroit, Michigan.
