Police search for missing veteran in Kentucky

KENTUCKY — Authorities have issued a Green Alert for a missing 70-year-old man in Burlington, according to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials said William Singleton was last seen Monday at his home in Burlington.

Singleton is described as 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing about 220 pounds, with a bald head and a beard.

Investigators said he left home without his phone while driving a 1989 Chevrolet RV-style vehicle with registration R3E479.

Authorities noted that Singleton is a Vietnam War veteran and has been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder, Parkinson’s disease, and dementia. Deputies also said he may be armed and could have multiple firearms in his possession.

According to investigators, Singleton’s bank card was last used in the London area on Wednesday.

Family members told authorities that Singleton has a history of alcohol abuse, his mental health has been declining, and he may be suicidal.

Officials urge anyone who finds Singleton not to approach him and instead call 911 immediately.

The investigation is ongoing.
