An early morning apartment fire in Northeast Louisville left one person hospitalized and two residents displaced Saturday.

According to local officials, firefighters from the Anchorage Fire Department, Middletown Fire Protection District and St. Matthews Fire & Rescue responded to the 11400 block of Tazwell Drive in Louisville, Kentucky around 3 a.m. Saturday after reports of an apartment fire.

When crews arrived, they found smoke coming from the first floor of a two-story apartment building. Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control in less than 20 minutes.

Officials said two people were displaced due to fire and smoke damage. One person was transported to a hospital, though their condition has not been released.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
