The sanctuary said donations are welcome for anyone who wants to help care for the animals.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A crash involving an animal trailer on Interstate 64 in southern Indiana led to the rescue of two pigs.
Tribe Animal Sanctuary said it received a call about the crash from the New Albany Animal Shelter, which took the pigs in after the accident.
The two pigs were the only animals to survive the crash that happened Friday, Feb. 27, on Interstate 64 near the Interstate 265 ramp. Tribe Animal Sanctuary said the pigs were being transported to be slaughtered.
The pigs are now safe at the sanctuary. Anyone interested in helping can donate through the sanctuary’s Facebook page.
The New Albany Police Department has not yet responded to requests for more information about the crash.
