LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) — Tracy Davenport, a pool company owner accused of defrauding customers across several Louisville-area counties, has pleaded guilty to federal charges.

On Feb. 19, Davenport admitted guilt to charges tied to defrauding more than 50 customers through her pool business, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Authorities allege Davenport and employees working under her direction persuaded clients to sign pool installation contracts and pay large upfront down payments.

In January 2023, WAVE reported that customers paid tens of thousands of dollars for pool installations that were never completed, with some contracts exceeding $100,000. Davenport Extreme Pools and Spas opened in early 2019 but closed in late 2022 after running out of money.

Prosecutors said Davenport then used those funds for purposes other than what customers had agreed to.

Davenport pleaded guilty to bankruptcy fraud, wire fraud and money laundering. The court has scheduled her sentencing for May 20.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office stated that Davenport must pay at least $3,398,536.75 in restitution.

She has already faced criminal cases in multiple counties around Louisville and is serving prison time related to prior convictions.
