One man died and another was injured in the early February shooting.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Weeks after a deadly shooting outside a Shively club earlier this month, police have arrested multiple suspects in what they described as a “coordinated attack.”

Gunfire killed 26-year-old Rodney Parker outside Club 7 on Seventh Street Road on Feb. 2. The shooting also injured another man, who was expected to survive.

On Wednesday, Shively Police said officers carried out several search warrants across Louisville as part of the ongoing investigation and arrested five people: Keasia Tyson, 27; Davion Birdsong, 19; Chance Guthrei, 18; D’Montray Rox, 20; and an unidentified juvenile.

Prosecutors charged all five with complicity to murder, second-degree assault and first-degree wanton endangerment. Authorities also charged Guthrei with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, and they charged the juvenile as a minor in possession of a handgun.

Court records detail ‘coordinated attack’

According to arrest citations, surveillance video from the club showed two vehicles connected to the shooting.

Police said Tyson drove one of the vehicles and approached the club with two others to ask about someone inside before the shooting began.

Investigators said the other suspects later arrived at Club 7 and carried out what officers described as a “coordinated attack.”

As the victims walked out of the club, the suspects opened fire, striking Parker, whom investigators identified as “the primary target.”

Police said the group then approached Parker as he lay on the ground and “executed him at close range.”

During the gunfire, one suspect also shot into the club, hitting the second victim.

Investigators recovered about 59 shell casings from the scene.

Shively Police also reported that officers arrested three additional people on drug and firearm charges while serving the search warrants, but authorities said those individuals were not connected to the fatal shooting at Club 7.
