A man accused of kidnapping a Louisville woman and her children, then forcing them to drive to a bank for a robbery, has picked up an additional charge while in jail.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Armond Langford, who has been held at Louisville Metro Department of Corrections since his arrest last August, now faces a new charge stemming from an incident behind bars.
On Dec. 21, jail officials charged Langford with first-degree criminal mischief after they said he threw his inmate tablet around his cell, shattering the screen and destroying the case.
Langford was already facing multiple charges, including kidnapping, robbery, burglary and fleeing police.
He is scheduled to appear for a competency hearing on March 5. Prosecutors also plan to file a motion to revoke his probation.
In 2021, Langford received a 14-year sentence for a series of robberies but was later granted shock probation after serving only a small portion of that term.
