Elizabethtown man killed in crash on I-65

HARDIN COUNTY, Ky. (WAVE) – Kentucky State Police confirmed that a 45-year-old man died after a Dodge Durango struck him early Tuesday morning on Interstate 65 south.

Troopers responded around 4:30 a.m. to reports of a pedestrian on the highway near the 100-mile marker in Hardin County.

Authorities identified the victim as 45-year-old Carol Ollis. The Hardin County Coroner pronounced him dead at the scene.

KSP closed the southbound lanes of I-65 for approximately four hours while investigators processed the scene.

The investigation remains ongoing and is being led by KSP Collision Reconstructionist Detective Scott Wheatly.
