Man arrested in St. Denis double shooting

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A man is behind bars in connection with a shooting in the St. Denis neighborhood that left two people hospitalized.

Police responded to a report of a shooting on Modern Way near Cane Run Road and Farnsley Road on Tuesday, Feb. 3. When officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot in the leg. Police said a short time later, a woman with a gunshot wound to the shoulder arrived at a hospital and is believed to be connected to the same incident.

On Wednesday, Louisville Metro Police announced the arrest of 21-year-old Jiantanez Rutledge in connection with the shooting. He has been charged with three counts of robbery.

Rutledge is being held at the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections and is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, Feb. 5. Police said the investigation remains open and ongoing.
