As the winter storm approaches, many school systems, academies, and universities are adjusting schedules to account for hazardous road conditions.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) — A winter storm is expected to bring ice and snow to parts of Tennessee and Kentucky during the final weekend of January.

WSMV4’s First Alert Weather team said the storm is forecast to impact the Midstate from Jan. 24 through Jan. 25.

With the approaching storm, several school systems and institutions have announced closures, delays, and schedule changes.

Below is a list of school districts that have announced closures or schedule adjustments due to the winter storm:

Tullahoma City Schools — Remote learning day Monday
Bedford County Schools — Closed Monday and Tuesday
Maury County Schools — All after-school activities and meetings canceled through Monday
Franklin County Schools — Closed Monday
Humphreys County Schools — Closed Monday and Tuesday
Metro Action Head Start
Giles County Schools — Early dismissal Friday at noon
Lawrence County Schools — Early dismissal Friday

The following universities have also announced closures or schedule changes:

Middle Tennessee State University — Remote classes Monday
Austin Peay State University — Classes and operations closed Monday; residence halls and dining services remain open
Trevecca Nazarene University — Virtual learning Saturday
