Additional charges have been filed against a Jefferson County Public Schools teacher arrested last month for allegedly engaging in a sexual conversation with a 5th-grade boy during a virtual learning day.

Sydne Graf, 36, was initially arrested on Dec. 15 after police said she messaged the boy, who is under 12, about oral sex during an online learning session. Graf was taken into custody when she went to the boy’s home to pick him up. According to her arrest slip, she admitted to having the explicit conversation. She was originally charged with procuring or promoting the use of a minor by electronic means.

Court records now show Graf faces several additional charges, including first-degree rape (victim under 12), first-degree sodomy (victim under 12), unlawful transaction with a minor, and possession of a controlled substance.

Graf entered a not guilty plea on Wednesday. She was ordered to have no contact with minors unless supervised and is restricted from internet use except through her phone. Her next court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 26.

JCPS confirmed that Graf is a math teacher at Smyrna Elementary and has been reassigned away from student contact while the investigation continues.
