A fourth former UPS employee in Louisville now faces charges linked to the theft of nearly $113,000 worth of Apple products.
Court documents show that police arrested Kevion Hudson on Tuesday under a warrant that includes charges of fleeing or evading police and engaging in organized crime, along with other offenses.
Hudson is one of four suspects accused of stealing iPhones while working as seasonal employees at UPS. Investigators reported finding backpacks filled with iPhones, AirPods, charging cables, and other items.
Hudson’s co-defendants—Takiyha Jones, Jasmine Kimbrough, and Wael Ayari—pleaded not guilty during arraignment court last week on charges of complicity in organized crime.
According to court records, the suspects worked together to remove iPhones from packages and hide them inside backpacks. Investigators said Hudson would collect the phones and throw the backpack over a fence on the side of the UPS property, where another suspect would catch it.
Police stated that the group rotated roles during the operation “to gain more Apple products.”
While UPS security questioned Hudson, police said he ran away on foot. Officers later found an abandoned backpack containing 45 newly stolen iPhones valued at $54,000.
Police arrested another suspect carrying a separate backpack that held 22 iPhones and accessories worth $25,000. Authorities also estimated the group had stolen more than $33,500 in merchandise before discovering the backpacks.
Altogether, investigators accuse the suspects of stealing about $112,500 worth of products.
Court documents also note that Hudson “has a history of assaults” and already faced a pending case in Jefferson County for domestic violence and violating an IPO.
Hudson pleaded not guilty in court on Wednesday morning. His next court appearance is scheduled for Friday.
All four suspects remain in custody on $112,500 cash bonds. A UPS spokesperson confirmed that the suspects no longer work for the company.
