LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Police have arrested six juveniles and one adult and recovered eight firearms following a burglary at a Louisville gun store earlier this week, with investigators saying additional arrests could still be made.

Jeffersontown police said three suspects broke into Everything Concealed Carry, a federally licensed firearms dealer located at 10306 Taylorsville Road, just after 5:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20. Investigators said more than a dozen firearms were stolen during the burglary, and the suspects used a vehicle that had been reported stolen.

ATF Special Agent Jason McClendon said the suspects smashed display cases and took firearms that were not secured behind glass.

“A lot of times, those weapons wind up back in the hands of violent individuals who in turn commit violent crimes,” McClendon said.

In an update released just before 9:30 p.m. Monday, Jeffersontown police confirmed that six juveniles and one adult had been arrested in connection with the burglary. Police said eight of the stolen firearms were recovered at multiple locations across the city. The identities of the suspects have not been released.

Authorities said the investigation is ongoing, and more arrests are possible as detectives continue following leads and working to recover remaining evidence.

The case is being investigated jointly by the Jeffersontown Police Department, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Louisville office, and the Louisville Metro Police Department. Police credited rapid information sharing and interagency cooperation for the swift arrests and recovery of firearms.

“Working alongside ATF and the Louisville Metro Police Department allowed us to act quickly, hold those responsible accountable, and recover stolen firearms before they could be used to harm members of our community,” Jeffersontown Police Chief Rick Sanders said. “Getting these guns off the street is critical to public safety.”

Officials had been offering up to $10,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the suspects, with $5,000 offered by the ATF and another $5,000 from the National Shooting Sports Foundation. It remains unclear whether the reward has been claimed.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call 888-ATF-TIPS (888-283-8477) or email [email protected].
