Whew, this morning was cold. Temperatures dropped to 13 degrees in Louisville, and while winds were light enough to prevent it from feeling even colder, single-digit wind chills were still reported across much of the area. French Lick even fell to single-digit air temperatures.
The cold mornings are not over yet. Tonight, temperatures will sink back into the teens and could dip even lower in some locations. The key difference for tomorrow morning will be the wind. Breezy conditions are expected, with gusts reaching 20 to 25 mph at times. That will likely drive wind chills below zero across the area by mid-morning Monday.
By Tuesday, the cold is expected to peak. Winds will ease, and skies will clear overnight. That combination will set the stage for the coldest morning of the week, with single-digit air temperatures likely for nearly everyone heading out the door.
Bundle up over the next few days and stay warm.
