LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A man has been arrested after allegedly setting fires in bathroom trash cans at three different stores in December.

James Huffines was taken into custody on Dec. 29, 2025, following a series of incidents at a Kroger, Walmart, and Burger King. Surveillance footage reportedly shows Huffines entering and exiting the bathrooms at each location before starting fires in trash cans.

All three buildings were occupied at the time, and each sustained minor damage. Employees were able to safely extinguish the fires at each site.

The police report noted the incidents posed a serious risk to customers and staff. Huffines is currently being held at the Shelby County Detention Center on arson charges.
