PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Kentucky man has been arrested after allegedly stealing his ex-girlfriend’s car from a hospital parking lot while she was giving birth to his child.
Authorities say 37-year-old Christopher Mollette came to Pikeville Medical Center to witness the birth. After the hospital restricted his visitation, the mother allowed him to stay in her car outside to avoid the cold.
Security footage reportedly shows Mollette entering the passenger side, then moving to the driver’s seat and driving off. When the mother called him, he allegedly refused to tell her where he or the car was and hung up.
Mollette was later located by state troopers on Saturday evening and charged with auto theft and receiving stolen property.
