LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Louisville woman is facing multiple charges after allegedly causing a crash while driving impaired with her children in the car.

The incident occurred just before midnight Sunday, Jan. 4, when 33-year-old Tori Tinsley reportedly drove northbound in the southbound lanes of Baxter Avenue near Edenside Drive and hit another vehicle, according to court documents. She initially left the scene.

Police later located Tinsley and her two children hiding in bushes on the 1500 block of Eastern Parkway. She initially denied driving but admitted to officers that she had smoked spice earlier in the day.

Authorities also noted that the license plate on Tinsley’s 2002 Ford Focus was invalid and that her driver’s license is suspended. A search of the car uncovered a green, flaky substance believed to be synthetic drugs.

Tinsley now faces nine charges, including:

  • Criminal abuse

  • Criminal mischief

  • Leaving the scene of an accident

  • DUI

  • Three counts of wanton endangerment

  • Obscuring the identity of a machine

  • Possession of synthetic drugs

Her bond was set at $10,000 cash, and her next court date is scheduled for Jan. 13.
