LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) — Louisville Metro Police have arrested a man accused of shooting one woman and assaulting another during a violent incident at an apartment in the Jacobs neighborhood.
The shooting happened on Dec. 26. According to court documents, Rondrell Cox showed up uninvited at an apartment where two women were inside. Both women told him to leave and pushed him away from the residence.
Police say Cox then pulled out a gun, shot one woman, and struck the other in the face with the firearm, breaking her jaw.
Both victims were taken to the hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
LMPD confirmed Cox was arrested on Jan. 3 in connection with the incident. He is charged with domestic violence assault, second-degree assault, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Cox is scheduled to appear in court for arraignment on Monday, Jan. 5.
