LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Two residents were displaced after a house fire broke out Sunday in Louisville’s Highlands Douglass neighborhood.

Louisville Fire responded around 2:43 p.m. to a three-story multi-family home in the 2200 block of Lauderdale Road, near Spring Drive, according to department spokesperson Donovan Sims. Crews arrived to find heavy flames coming from the building. One occupant was able to exit safely without assistance.

Due to the fire’s size and complexity, additional resources were called in. Eight fire apparatuses and about 50 firefighters worked to bring the blaze under control by 4:22 p.m. No injuries were reported, though the home sustained significant fire and smoke damage.

The Louisville Fire Arson Unit is investigating the cause of the fire.
