KENTUCKY — Central Kentucky residents could see higher electric bills if the Kentucky Public Service Commission (PSC) approves a rate increase requested by Kentucky Utilities.

The PSC held a public meeting Tuesday evening to hear concerns from customers about the proposed hike.

If approved, rates would rise by 11.5%, adding roughly $18 per month for an average household. The increase would generate approximately $226 million in additional annual revenue for Kentucky Utilities, which serves over 500,000 customers statewide.

The PSC is expected to issue its final decision by March 30.
