Wimauma Man on Probation Is Arrested Again in CSAM Probe

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 42‑year‑old resident of Wimauma on Wednesday after executing a court‑authorized search of his home in connection with an ongoing child sexual abuse material (CSAM) investigation. The suspect, Daniel Munive Viruet, was taken into custody on September 30, 2026, and authorities allege that he violated the terms of his active felony probation.

## Background of the Investigation

The investigation commenced on April 16, 2026, when the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children received a CyberTipline report indicating that illicit files had been uploaded to the internet. Detectives traced the uploads to Munive Viruet’s residence in Wimauma and identified him as the individual responsible for posting the material.

## Arrest and Search

Detectives from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Internet Predators Unit, together with the SWAT team, served a search warrant at Munive Viruet’s home on September 30, 2026. During the raid, investigators seized several electronic devices, including the suspect’s cell phone. The evidence collected confirmed that Munive Viruet had breached the conditions of his probation.

## Probation Status and Prior Convictions

Records show that Munive Viruet was already serving felony probation for a previous offense. On September 23, 2025, detectives searched his home and charged him with possession of child pornography, as well as with filming, distributing, or possessing images or video depicting sexual activity with an animal.

## Charges and Ongoing Investigation

Following the September 30 raid, authorities filed two counts of probable‑cause violation of probation related to the use or production of minor sexual material. The sheriff’s office indicated that additional charges remain pending as the investigation proceeds.

## Official Response

Sheriff Chad Chronister remarked, “This is the second time this individual has been arrested in just one year. His repeated actions demonstrate a disregard for the seriousness of his behavior. He is now behind bars, where he belongs.”

## Conclusion

The arrest of Daniel Munive Viruet underscores the continued efforts of Hillsborough County law‑enforcement agencies to combat the distribution of child sexual abuse material. By enforcing probation conditions and pursuing additional charges, authorities aim to protect vulnerable victims and hold offenders accountable for their actions.
