A 38-year-old Cincinnati, Ohio, man was taken into custody Monday morning after reportedly arranging to meet someone he thought was a 15-year-old girl at a Reading park, according to the Reading Police Department.
According to police, Luis Rivera arranged to meet the girl at Pendora Park for sexual contact. Rivera had been speaking with an undercover cop posing as a minor, according to authorities.
Rivera arrived at the park around 8:05 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 28, and communicated with the undercover officer, telling her he had arrived, according to police.
Rivera was then arrested without incident by officers from the department’s Patrol Division and Criminal Investigations Division.
Rivera was charged with unlawful contact with a minor and other offenses. According to police, he was awaiting arraignment.
Criminal charges are accusations, and Rivera is deemed innocent until proven guilty in court.
