A 24-year-old woman was detained after police said she stole two watches, including a Rolex worth $37,000, from a man’s residence after the pair met on Tinder and spending the night drinking together.
Alexia Jocelyn Flores was arrested Wednesday in connection with the theft on September 20, according to a City of Miami Police arrest report.
According to investigators, the victim met Flores on Tinder and asked her to dinner on September 19, after which the two returned to his residence and spent many hours drinking.
According to the complaint, the victim eventually requested Flores to leave and sat on his living room couch as she dressed near the bedroom and bathroom.
The victim told detectives that he then walked Flores to the elevator, where they kissed goodbye.
When he returned to his residence, he discovered two watches missing from the nightstand next to his bed, authorities said.
The victim informed authorities that he did not see Flores take the watches.
The victim escorted Flores to the elevator, where she entered alone, strolled through the lobby, and took an Uber around 3 a.m., according to police footage. The victim informed detectives that he attempted to call the Uber driver he had booked for Flores but realized she had blocked him.
According to the report, on September 21, the victim gave officers a sworn written statement in which she identified Flores in a six-photo lineup.
On Wednesday, police found Flores near North Miami Avenue and Northwest 21st Street and transported her to Miami Police Headquarters for interrogation.
After waiving her Miranda rights, Flores told investigators she met the victim on Tinder, went to dinner, and then returned to his apartment.
Flores denied removing the watches, telling officers she thought she had been drugged and couldn’t remember what happened next.
The victim said police he did not give Flores permission to steal the watches and gave investigators a receipt indicating the Rolex was purchased for $37,000.
Flores was detained and transported to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
She faces one count of second-degree grand theft.
