A Lotto Texas ticket worth estimated $7.5 million was sold in a Houston grocery store, but the winner has yet to claim the jackpot, according to Texas Lottery authorities.
The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased at the Kroger on 14344 Memorial Drive. It matched all six numbers chosen in the September 5 Lotto Texas drawing: 14, 17, 25, 26, 30, and 37.
The player chose the cash value option at the time of purchase and is entitled to receive $3,971,819.05 before taxes. The ticket holder has 180 days from the drawing date to claim their reward.
Officials advised the winner to sign the ticket, keep it safe, and seek financial and legal advice before contacting the Texas Lottery.
“A Lotto Texas jackpot win is always a big moment, and we’re looking forward to celebrating with the player holding the winning ticket when they come forward to claim the prize,” said Courtney Arbor, executive director of the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, which oversees the Texas Lottery.
The jackpot began at an advertized $5 million for the August 12 drawing and climbed over 11 drawings before being won on Saturday nite.
Nearly 47,900 other Lotto Texas tickets, including those with the Extra! add-on option, won lower-tier prizes ranging from $2 to $11,813 in the same drawing.
The next Lotto Texas drawing is scheduled for Wednesday, with an estimated annuitized jackpot of $5.25 million.
