Five men were taken into custody early Sunday after a vehicle escaped a traffic stop, collided with a US government vehicle, and then drove into a parked automobile in Northeast Washington, authorities said.
DC police said task force members began a car stop around 12:30 a.m. in the 4900 block of Benning Road Southeast.
Authorities stated the vehicle fled following the halt and collided with a US government vehicle. The task force pursued the vehicle shortly until it collided with a parked vehicle on Blaine Street and Benning Road Northeast.
Five adult men were detained on firearms and narcotics charges, according to authorities.
Four of the five guys were transported to area hospitals by D.C. Fire and EMS for treatment of their injuries.
Police did not provide information on the severity of their injuries.
The MPD’s Major Crash Unit is investigating.
