A man died and two women from Lapeer County were hospitalized following a head-on collision in Oakland Township.
The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office reported that the crash occurred at 5:48 a.m. on Rochester Road near Buell Road.
According to the sheriff’s office, a 65-year-old Rochester Hills man was driving a Ford Escape northbound on Rochester Road when it crossed the centerline and collided with a Subaru Outback heading south.
The Rochester Hills man died on the scene.
A 49-year-old Imlay City resident drove the Subaru, while a 56-year-old Almont resident sat in the passenger seat. Both were transported to the hospital in critical condition.
The cause of the crash is being investigated. Investigators don’t think the crash was caused by a medical emergency.
