A Wildwood man was taken into custody on violence charges after allegedly slamming his girlfriend to the ground in his apartment.
An officer responded to a disturbance involving Carnell Lamar Coleman, 20, at the Wildwood Preserve Apartments, 7011 Homestead Loop, around 5:30 p.m. Monday, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department.
Coleman’s girlfriend of 11 months reported that they were arguing when he slammed her to the ground in the laundry room. He then hurled her vaporizer in the breezeway outside, breaking it and punching a hole in the apartment wall. His girlfriend suffered a slight laceration on her left temple, according to the report.
Coleman, on the other hand, claimed that his fiancée pushed his head into the wall, which created the hole. She grasped his hair, and he jerked away. She must have fallen, but he wasn’t certain. He then left the house and proceeded to an upstairs neighbor to call family for a ride, according to the complaint.
Coleman was finally arrested for violence and put into the Sumter County Detention Center without bond.
