An Adams resident is celebrating after winning the top prize of $500,000 in a Massachusetts State Lottery quick ticket game.
The Massachusetts State Lottery announced that Patricia Markland of Adams won the $500,000 top prize in the “$500,000 Frenzy” fast ticket game.
Markland selected the one-time payment option and received a lump sum of $500,000 before taxes. According to the lottery, she intends to share some of her riches with her children.
The winning ticket was purchased at Val’s Variety, situated at 5 Columbia St., Adams. Val’s Variety, the retailer that sold the winning ticket, will earn a $5,000 bonus from the Massachusetts Lottery.
According to lottery authorities, Markland won the tenth $500,000 top prize in the “$500,000 Frenzy” fast ticket game.
