Three juveniles and four adults were taken into custody on various firearms and narcotics charges Thursday morning after authorities executed search warrants at houses on Indianapolis’ south side and in Greenwood.
According to a public police record acquired by FOX59/CBS4, Indianapolis metro police executed a search warrant at a property on the 7000 block of Beal Lane.
According to the report, a seventeen-year-old was detained on the following preliminary charges:
Additionally, a 16-year-old, another 17-year-old, two 18-year-olds, and a 20-year-old were detained on misdemeanor marijuana possession charges. The report stated that officers seized marijuana vapes, several cell phones, ammunition, a single-stack magazine loaded with 9mm rounds, two semiautomatic pistols, and a pair of semiautomatic rifles.
In a Friday update, IMPD authorities stated that nine weapons, including one with a device to convert it into a machine gun, were discovered as evidence during the investigation.
FOX59/CBS4 confirmed that this is the same residence where many rounds of gunfire were fired in early June. The volley of gunfire at the Beal Lane property was captured on film by a doorbell camera.
“These enforcement actions are part of IMPD’s continued efforts to identify and hold those responsible accountable for violence impacting our community,” IMPD posted on Friday. “Investigations into the shots-fired events are ongoing, and we invite anyone with information to call the Southeast District at 317-327-6300.
“We thank the numerous community members who have already stepped up to report criminal behavior in their neighborhoods,” the statement added.
IMPD also verified that one more arrest was made after numerous search warrants were executed at a residence in the 300 block of Sunset Boulevard in Greenwood.
