Three men were busted following a chase that spanned two counties and ended at a busy shopping center in Rankin County, according to local authorities.
Investigators say the incident began about 3:00 p.m. on September 15, 2026, when Madison County deputies and Madison police issued a regional alert for two males suspected of committing a residential burglary in the county.
Law enforcement was informed that the suspects escaped into Rankin County via Spillway Road in a Dodge Caravan with blacked-out windows.
Rankin County deputies, Flowood police, Madison police, and Madison County deputies all scoured the area to find the vehicle. They stated a Rankin County K-9 deputy saw the minivan on Old Fannin Road and initiated a traffic stop. Authorities say the driver refused to stop and fled.
The chase concluded near the Dogwood Festival shopping area in Flowood, where the vehicle came to a halt and the suspects fled.
According to police, one suspect was apprehended beside the vehicle, another was apprehended while attempting to enter a neighboring business, and the third was apprehended inside a neighborhood restaurant.
They were identified as Erick Fabian Mendoza, 21, of Texas, Isaac Bravo Gomez, 20, of Texas, and Miguel Angel Carrasquillo-Villanueva, 39, of New Mexico.
The three suspects were initially taken to the Rankin County Jail and booked on felony flight charges.
