An armed Chicago man was nabbed in the driveway of a Freeport home after the owner reported a suspicious car parked there.
According to the Stephenson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to the 1500 block of South Adams Avenue at 3:32 a.m.
A deputy identified the vehicle in question, which three individuals inhabited. During a search of the vehicle, officers discovered a loaded 9mm handgun under the driver’s seat.
Geonte Milton, 19, of Chicago, was arrested and charged with possessing a firearm without a Firearm Owners Identification Card and aggravated criminal use of a weapon.
He was booked into Stephenson County Jail while awaiting the outcome of a pretrial detention hearing.
