One $1 ticket resulted in a seven-figure windfall for Winter Haven resident Benjamin Hall, who claimed a $2 million Jackpot Triple Play award and received it in cash. Hall chose a one-time lump-sum payout of $1,212,677.60 after winning the top prize in the Florida Lottery draw game.
The winning ticket was purchased at Vaishali on North Combee Road in Lakeland, and Hall submitted his claim earlier this year at the Florida Lottery offices in Tallahassee. The winning number came from Jackpot Triple Play, the lottery’s $1 game that grants players three chances on each ticket.
According to the Florida Lottery, Hall’s winning ticket was drawn on January 16, 2026, and he claimed it at lottery headquarters on January 20. According to the lottery statement, Hall selected a cash over annuity payout.
Where the ticket was sold
According to Tampa Bay 28, the jackpot-winning ticket was sold at Vaishali, 4646 N. Combee Road in Lakeland. Local media coverage highlights the transaction at the Lakeland business, as well as Hall’s subsequent claim submission with lottery authorities earlier this year.
How Jackpot Triple Play works
Jackpot Triple Play costs $1 per play and includes three sets of numbers on one ticket. The first set requires players to choose six numbers from 1 to 46, while the remaining two sets are generated as Quick Picks. Jackpots begin at $250,000 and can reach a maximum of $2 million. Once that limit is reached, any additional prize money is distributed to increase lower-tier rewards until a jackpot winner is picked.
According to the Florida Lottery, Jackpot Triple Play has been available since 2019 and continues to be one of the most affordable draw alternatives for Florida players looking for a chance at a life-changing reward.
Big payout, state impact
According to West Orlando News, since its introduction in 2019, Jackpot Triple Play has awarded more than $183.3 million in prizes, created 87 jackpot winners, and generated more than $137.4 million for the state’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund, citing lottery numbers provided with Hall’s assertion.
Hall’s decision to go with the cash option provides him immediate access to the money after the appropriate withholdings, but winners are frequently encouraged to consult with tax and financial advisers before making major decisions. For many Central Florida players, Jackpot Triple Play remains a low-cost gamble that occasionally results in a headline-worthy payout, and the lottery emphasizes prudent play even when jackpots reach their maximums.
