Tahquamenon Area Schools teacher resigns after investigation into misconduct allegations

The Tahquamenon Area School District announced that a middle school teacher has resigned following misconduct allegations brought to the district’s attention.

The district did not disclose the nature of the allegations, but confirmed it immediately launched a review in accordance with district policy once the matter was reported.

“What we can share is that the safety and wellbeing of our students is always our top priority,” Superintendent Shawn Tebo said in a press release. “When concerns are brought forward, we take them seriously, review them promptly and involve appropriate authorities when needed. We are grateful to those who reported this concern and helped ensure it could be addressed through the proper channels.”

The teacher resigned following an investigation, the district said.

The district added that it will not be releasing further details, citing the matter as a personnel issue.
