Two people out for a night walk on Black’s Beach in San Diego saw an apparent drowning victim lying face down and unresponsive on the beach and attempted to rescue him until paramedics arrived.
Just before 8 p.m., officers from the San Diego Police Patrol and beach teams responded to Black’s Beach, located below the Torrey Pines Glider Port. Friday, for reports of a male who was discovered face down and not breathing.
The people who discovered the victim performed CPR until police, paramedics, and lifeguards came by land and boat.
The man was carried to the hospital and pronounced dead, according to police reports. He has yet to be identified by police.
California State Parks is responsible for the inquiry.
