An Oakland County man is excited to give his kids a better future after winning $1 million.
The man won the reward by playing the Michigan Lottery’s $1,000,000 Cash Spectacular instant game.
The 48-year-old man has decided to remain unidentified.
The man purchased his winning ticket from Main Street Convenience Inc., located at 402 South Main Street in Ann Arbor.
“I stopped at the store and bought three lottery tickets,” said the man. “I didn’t win anything on the first two tickets, and then I scratched the third ticket and was in total disbelief when I saw I’d won $1 million.”
“I consider myself really fortunate to have won this honor. It’s going to offer our family a sense of financial security and allow us to give our children a better future.”
The man just went to lottery headquarters to receive the large prize.
He opted to receive his reward as a one-time lump sum payment of around $693,000 rather than annuity payments for the entire amount.
With his riches, he intends to build college funds for his children.
