Man Discovered Dead In Semi-truck In Castaic Identified

The man who was discovered dead in a semi-truck on Monday afternoon in Castaic has been identified.

Cesar Salmeron Zelaya, 61, of Coalinga, California, was discovered dead in his truck in Castaic, according to officials from the Los Angeles County Examiner’s Office.

Around 12:15 p.m. Monday, first responders got reports of a person found unresponsive in a semi-truck outside the Pilot Gas Station on the 31000 block of Castaic Road in Castaic, according to Justin Yang, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department at the time.

“Units arrived to find a male patient pulseless and apneic,” Yang stated.

According to officials, firefighters arrived on the site and pronounced Zelaya deceased.

Zelaya’s timing and cause of death remain unknown at this time.
