The Whitman resident won a $1 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$4,000,000 Cash Doubler” fast ticket game, lottery officials announced Wednesday.
She picked the cash option for her reward and got a one-time payment of $650,000, before taxes, lottery officials said.
Varley told lottery authorities that the money she won will be used to buy her family’s home.
She bought her winning ticket at Little Comfort General Store, 50 Washington St., Whitman.
The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling this ticket.
