LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The National Weather Service (NWS) is surveying storm damage across Kentucky following overnight severe weather.

A strong line of storms moved through the region late Sunday night, bringing intense wind gusts and triggering multiple tornado warnings.

NWS Louisville said Monday that it has deployed two crews to assess storm damage across several parts of Kentucky.

One crew is surveying damage in Grayson, Hardin, and Meade counties. Another team is evaluating damage in Bullitt and Nelson counties.

Surveys ongoing

In a Monday afternoon update, NWS officials said crews have completed the damage survey in Bullitt County, but they have not yet made a final determination.

Crews continue surveying storm damage in Nelson County and will likely extend their work into the Bardstown area on Tuesday, officials added.

Teams are still assessing damage in Meade and Hardin counties as well.

NWS Louisville also said additional surveys in several counties farther south may take place later this week.

Power restored to thousands

According to Gov. Andy Beshear, no injuries were reported in Kentucky following the storms.

LG&E reported that more than 46,000 customers across its service area lost power due to the storms. By just before noon Monday, that number had dropped to 4,500 customers.
